Carrozzi Vineyard was founded in 2009 by Stephen Carrozzi and Cheryl (LaVrar) Carrozzi. The grapes for Carrozzi wines are grown on the Estate. The initial Pinot Noir vines (2 1/2 acres) were planted in 2009 and are meticulously cared for.
Delta, meaning change, was born out of our desire to create a platform to make a difference in the fight to protect our planet. We partner with organizations dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment such as cleaning up our oceans and reducing CO2 emissions. We offset the carbon footprint our winery creates.
The vineyard sits at the southern end of Dry Creek Valley, known for its high quality Zinfandel and Zinfandel blends. Just a half mile to the south is the Russian River Valley, one of the most well known appellations in the United States growing Pinot Noir, and rivaling that Burgundy. In 2010 a reporter from the Wall Street Journal published an article titled “The Rock Stars of Pinot Noir” and labeled Westside Road the “Rodeo Drive of Pinot Noir.” On the estate we planted and grow both of these varietals. Pinot Noir clones 115 and 777 from Burgundy were planted to replicate the classic earthy flavor while adding in the bright flavors and aromas that Sonoma Pinot is best known for, and Zinfandel and Petite Sirah were planted to highlight the light, fresh, and aromatic style.

Few imagined back in the 70’s and 80’s that one day the fruit from this region would achieve such worldwide recognition for its fruit and amazing wines. Four generations ago we began the journey is Sonoma County. Our single vineyard Cabernet, Merlot and Chardonnay wines are carefully crafted by local vintners resulting in simply the best small batch wines. The wine venture was inspired by our father who we lost before he could fulfill the mission. His passion inspired us to foster and help finish the dream. We have created 5 vintages of hand crafted, single vineyard limited release wines inspiring the imagination as what else could be.
Our Family has been farming in the Dry Creek Valley since the late 1800’s when great-grandfather Raffaelo Guadagni settled in the upper part of Dry Creek Valley. Raffaelo’s son Fred moved onto our current property in 1941 with his family and the Guadagni’s have been on here ever since.
